About

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, / who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.                                                                                          2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Berean Standard Bible

Read the comments on any public thread, whether it be about news or a recipe, and you will see strangers unapologetically berating one another for simply sharing an opinion that differs from theirs. We as Christians are called instead to be imitators of Christ, showing the same compassion that God Himself has showered upon us.

In sharing tidbits from my life's journey with Jesus as my Rock and my Fortress, I hope to provide some encouragement, compassion and comfort to those in any trouble. I've certainly not been perfect, but I am truly blessed.

Background

I grew up in the country, surrounded by mountains, fields, and a stream with only a few nearby neighbors, one of which was my Grandmother. I was the oldest of her 13 grandchildren.  I spent a lot of time with her as a child. Yahtzee and Scrabble were our favorite games that we played together. She was the greatest influencer of my early Christian faith, taking me to church, Sunday School, and Bible School.

I developed a deep appreciation for nature, having spent many hours fishing, swimming, camping, and sledding. When I wasn't outdoors, I was painting by number or weaving potholders. As an adult, I enjoy flower gardening, kayaking, taking walks, and feeding birds.

I am married and have a daughter, son, stepson, two grandsons, and five step-grandsons. My parents, brother, sister, and their spouses all live within a 15 to 20-minute drive. Family is one of the greatest gifts.

Professionally, I have worked in the energy management field for the past 15+ years. However, I have worked many jobs throughout my life, ranging from customer service and factory work to child care and office support.

In addition to life experience, I hold a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University, a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources from Geneva College, and an Associate of Arts in Mental Health from Allegany College.
